Executive Assistant to the President

Shelby Lauter began serving as the Executive Assistant to the President of AJCU in July 2018. A Midwestern girl at heart, Shelby grew up in Indianapolis, IN and lived in Cincinnati, OH for college. Prior to working for AJCU, she interned in Senator Sherrod Brown’s (D-OH) Cincinnati office and worked on several local campaigns.

Shelby graduated summa cum laude from Xavier University with a B.A. in Economics and a H.B.A. from the Philosophy, Politics and the Public Honors Program. While at Xavier, she served as a senator in the Student Government Association, a peer mentor to underclassmen, and as a buddy to homeless children at a local elementary school. Shelby was also a recipient of the 2017-18 Winter-Cohen Brueggeman Fellowship, through which she studied localized economic responses to climate change in the United States and abroad.
