Executive Director, JesuitNET Design Services
Dr. Kathleen Snyder is Executive Director of JesuitNET Design Services (JDS), a unit of the AJCU that provides academic services to Jesuit colleges and universities that wish to develop mission-based online learning initiatives. Dr. Snyder has been involved in the field of online teaching and learning since 1995. She is an alumna of the Ignatian Colleagues Program and has a Ph.D. in Education, with an emphasis in online learning, from New York University.
Dr. Snyder and the JDS staff have served the Jesuit network of schools on national and international levels since 2002, training more than 800 faculty and staff from 32 Jesuit institutions in the United States (including Jesuit high schools) and Latin America. Dr. Snyder also collaborates with the Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities in Latin America (AUSJAL) to deliver a program that allows faculty and students to engage with one another online, to develop language skills, cultural awareness, and to conduct research. Dr. Snyder and the JDS staff provide support for Jesuit organizations beyond the AJCU, including outreach services for Catholic schools in need of support with online initiatives.
Dr. Snyder is heavily involved with research projects that integrate technology and education within the Ignatian tradition. She has served as an adjunct professor at the University of San Francisco, Gonzaga University and Loyola University Maryland. Prior to working for AJCU, she had a career with IBM.
