Duran, Ecuador
This program will last ten days during the summer of 2008 and is the second year Saint Joseph's University has sent students/staff down to work with the Rostro de Cristo program. Throughout our time in Duran, we will mingle with the people in the community and spend a number of hours each day visiting and working at community programs. Being with the people of Duran and Guayaquil will have priority. Every day we will dedicate several hours to visiting and sometimes working with residents of different areas.

We will also share activities to maintain the living quarters: shopping, cooking, cleaning, etc. as well as making time as a group for prayer and reflection daily and participating in the parish liturgy. There are 12 students and 2 adult facilitators for this program.

Dar es Salaam/Morogoro, Tanzania
This program will last a little more than 3 weeks in July 2008. This is the second year we have run this program out of the Office of Campus Ministry. 9 students and 2 adult facilitators will be participating in the program which will see the group working in Dar es Salaam (the coastal city) for about a week and Morogoro (the inland, rural town) for another full week in conjunction with Jesuit priests and others living in Tanzania. Some of the work that will be done will include teaching in kindergarten/elementary/middle school classrooms. The education leading up to the trip is mainly focused on HIV/AIDS and the poverty we will be witness to in the affected areas of Tanzania/East Africa.
