This conference is comprised of financial aid directors at the 27 Jesuit colleges and universities in the U.S. They meet annually during the National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (NASFAA) Conference and the AJCU Government Relations Network Conference in Washington, DC.
Staff members from the financial aid offices of Jesuit colleges and universities are committed to addressing the financial barriers that might prevent Jesuit institutions from enrolling and graduating highly talented students who will live their lives as men and women for others. On behalf of the Association and all who work in financial aid, the AJCU Conference of Financial Aid Directors is committed to identifying and sharing best practices; to assisting one another in understanding and implementing all federal rules and regulations applicable to student financial aid; to articulating AJCU's responses to financial aid issues; and, to representing the needs and best interests of the students enrolled at Jesuit institutions.
The major achievement of the conference to date is creating a climate of ongoing discussions and support within the AJCU financial aid community throughout the year. In an era where institutional budgets are tight and federal regulations are continuously changing, members work with each other to discover the optimal short-term solutions to common challenges faced in administering federal aid programs. As active participants in professional associations on the state, regional and national levels, members also advocate for changes when warranted.
