Conference Mission Statement: The Chief Academic Officers (CAO) Conference works collaboratively to strengthen the sense of solidarity and shared identity among AJCU institutions and to provide critical support as we pursue our diverse and distinctive educational missions in the Jesuit tradition. The CAO conference provides a forum for communication and connectedness among AJCU members, as well as transformative opportunities for leadership, learning and service. A spirit of generous cooperation and collaboration characterizes the work of the group.
This conference is comprised of chief academic officers and provosts at the 28 Jesuit colleges and universities in the U.S. They meet with the AJCU president at an AJCU institution every year, and engage in conversations about academic affairs throughout the year via AJCU listserv.
Examples of collaboration among the AJCU Chief Academic Officers include the AJCU Consortium for Disaster Preparedness and the Statement of Principles for Jesuit Academic Programs.
