Who We Are

JesuitNET seeks to meet the diverse, growing needs of both traditional and non-traditional learners by providing a flexible and convenient way to learn, and by complementing classroom learning on Jesuit campuses. JesuitNET is a unit of the Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities (AJCU), a national voluntary service organization whose mission is to serve its member institutions, the 28 Jesuit colleges and universities in the United States, representing them and facilitating their various collaborative activities.

JesuitNET provides AJCU colleges and universities with the following range of beneficial academic services and projects that directly support their commitment to quality and personalized learning.

  •          Facilitate the marketing and sharing of online courses across AJCU campuses to support higher course enrollments, fewer course redundancies and richer curricular offerings.

  •          Offer the six-week online CADE course design workshop and the two-hour/full-day on-campus CADE seminars to AJCU faculty members.

  •          Collaborate with the Jesuit universities in Latin America to identify, develop and offer online courses to students at Jesuit institutions throughout the hemisphere.

  •          Through the new Center for Online Bioethics Education, work with AJCU institutions to identify, design and produce a suite of new online courses that would be most supportive of both on-campus and online Jesuit bioethics education.

  •          Assist AJCU institutions contemplating new instructional offerings in selecting potential curriculum areas, reviewing faculty development needs and identifying production and delivery requirements.

  •          Sub-contract CADE course production work and funding to instructional technology and multimedia departments at AJCU institutions.

  •          Work with AJCU institutional research and assessment staff to create new evaluation models for assessing student learning experiences and outcomes in on-campus and online courses.

  •          Sponsor issues- and skills-oriented conferences and a growing listserv for AJCU instructional technology, faculty development and distance learning managers to share and address common interests and issues.
