U.S. Jesuit Institutions are among U.S. News and World Report's "Best Colleges"
August 29, 2009
Once again, Jesuit institutions made the list of America's "Best Colleges" in the latest U.S. News & World Report rankings for 2010, according to the Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities (AJCU). All of the research universities were listed in the Tier One category, and almost all AJCU colleges and universities were among the Tier One Master's institutions.
Of note, Creighton University in Omaha, NE, was listed at No. 1 for midwest master's universities for the seventh year in a row. The College of the Holy Cross, the only exclusively undergraduate Jesuit institution in the U.S., was listed among the "Best Liberal Arts Colleges" in the country. "Jesuit colleges and universities have become synonymous with a high-quality education that focuses on scholarship, service and leadership," said Fr. Charles Currie, S.J., president of AJCU. "The U.S. News rankings are just another way our schools are recognized for their commitment to excellence."
