Program of study: Completion of an Associate RN degree program for RN to MSN; RN with baccalaureate degree in a non-nursing field for Blend program
Transfer Work: Courses graded C or above will be accepted for transfer if the courses are equivalent to courses offered at Loyola University New Orleans. Evaluations of previous college work are conducted on a course-by course basis. Transcript evaluation is done on an individual basis.

Program available to students with bachelor’s degrees in other fields who complete Loyola’s two-course Blend Program offered completely online. RN to MSN program also available to students who are enrolled in the Loyola BSN program and who wish to pursue their master’s in Health Care Systems Management via distance learning.
RN to MSN Admission Requirements:
1. Application to the Health Care Systems Management MSN program is made during the last year of the BSN degree. Requirements for admission to the MSN program include:
· An application for admission to the MSN Program
· Either a cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher on all prior undergraduate work or a GPA of 3.0 or higher on all hours taken at Loyola for completion of the BSN degree
· A minimum grade of B on each NURS 700-level course taken at Loyola
· A formal interview (in person or by telephone) with a graduate faculty member at Loyola
· Three recommendations from persons familiar with your work, i.e. faculty, or supervisors preferably with a minimum of an MSN.
Nursing Credit (36 semester hours): The RN to MSN option for Health Care Systems Management allows qualified applicants to substitute two specific MSN graduate-level nursing courses (6 semester credit hours) for two lower level, BSN undergraduate nursing courses. Students take Undergraduate NURS 361, 365, 450, 457, 471, 473 and Graduate NURS 700 & Graduate 740.

Blend Program Admissions Requirements:
1. The MSN Blend program is a series of two 3 credit hour courses which serves as a prerequisite to 700-level (graduate) nursing courses. Applications to the Blend Program are accepted throughout the year with course work beginning in the fall and spring terms. Admission to the Blend program occurs twice a year with course work beginning in the fall or spring term. Requirements include:
· A non-nursing bachelor’s degree in any field
· Official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended
· A current unencumbered RN license
· A cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher on all prior undergraduate work
· Three credit hours of undergraduate statistics
· Three recommendations (on the Loyola form) from persons knowledgeable about the applicant’s aptitude for graduate school (i.e. former professors or master’s prepared nursing supervisors)
· A type-written, personal statement describing your professional goals and reasons for pursuing a graduate degree
· A minimum grade of B on each of the courses in the Loyola Blend sequence for admission to the MSN program
