About CMA

The AJCU Conference on Multicultural Affairs (CMA) was established in October, 1981 to ensure optimal access to Jesuit higher education for African American, Hispanic, Asian, Native American (AHANA) students who are often considered underrepresented at the twenty-eight U.S. Jesuit institutions.

Goals of CMA
  • Ensure access of African American, Asian American, Hispanic American, and Native American students to Jesuit higher education
  • Provide an awareness of challenges faced by students of color and foster the development of strategies to overcome these challenges
  • Enhance the quality of the educational experience for all students from underrepresented racial and ethnic groups
  • Promote the institutionalization of participation by underrepresented racial and ethnic groups in planning, policy formulation and implementation
