The University provides more than 70 distinct majors across the undergraduate and master’s levels to more than 3,000 students through the College of Arts and Sciences and the John M. and Mary Jo Boler School of Business. Founded as St. Ignatius College in 1886, the institution was renamed John Carroll University in 1923 after the first archbishop of the Catholic Church in the United States.
