PROGRAM OF STUDY AT THE FLORIDA COMMUNITY COLLEGE
Completion of an associate RN degree program.
GENERAL ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Courses graded C or above will be accepted for transfer if the courses are equivalent to courses offered at Loyola University New Orleans. Evaluations of previous college work are conducted on a course-by-course basis. However, students with an Associate of Arts degree from a Florida community college qualify for generous transfer credits. Transcript evaluation is done on an individual basis with no standard maximum .The cumulative grade point average for all course work attempted at previous institution(s) should be a 2.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale.

Program available to bachelor’s degrees in other fields who complete Loyola’s two-course Bridge Program offered completely online. RN to MSN program also available to students who complete the Loyola BSN program offered via distance learning or on-campus.
APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS
Applications to Loyola’s MSN HCSM program are reviewed as they are received and applicants are typically notified of admission status within a few weeks of submitting applications. New students begin class with the summer term in early June each year, in August for fall or in early January for spring, thus applicants are urged to apply by the middle of the month preceding the start of classes.
Admission to the MSN Health Care Systems Management program requires the following:
- A BSN degree from a school accredited by the National League for Nursing or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, or a bachelor’s degree in any field plus completion of the Loyola MSN Bridge Program (completely on-line)
- A current unrestricted RN license in practice in the United States - a copy of the license must be submitted with the application form (send in application packet)
- Submission of an application fee of $40 (check made payable to Loyola University) and an application form (found on the web at http://www.loyno.edu/nursing/management/ under the link called “Admission to the Program” (send in application packet)
- Three recommendations (on the form provided by Loyola) from persons knowledgeable about the applicants aptitude for graduate school such as -former professors or nursing supervisors (send in application packet)
- A typed goal statement, approximately one page in length, describing your career goals and interest in graduate education (send in application packet)
- Official transcripts from all degree-granting college/university attended
- A cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher on all prior undergraduate work
- The undergraduate equivalent of 3 semester credit hours in statistics

- Three Recommendations on Loyola form(Adobe PDF)
- A typed goal statement, approximately one page in length, describing your career goals in nursing and your interest in graduate education at Loyola University
- $40 application fee for on-line students(check made payable to Loyola University)
- A photocopy of your RN license

Registered nurses interested in this online program must meet the following requirements:
- The applicant must be currently licensed by the state of Florida as a registered nurse. (Evidence for eligibility for licensure may be accepted in lieu of a current state of Florida license to enroll in the first semester.) The student must be fully licensed to continue after the initial term.
- The applicant must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 overall in transfer coursework. If the GPA is below 2.8, conditional admission may be granted to take up to 6 semester hours at the University. Progress is evaluated upon completion of these credit hours. Full acceptance to the nursing major will be granted upon achievement of a grade of “B” or better in each of the courses comprising the 6 hours.
REQUIREMENTS FOR A NURSING MAJOR
The H.C.S.M program focuses on the knowledge and skills needed to succeed in a variety of leadership positions in health care organizations. The H.C.S.M. program requires 36-semester credit hours, 12 of which are devoted to core courses and 24 to H.C.S.M. major courses. A 120 hour practicum must also be completed in the final spring semester of the program. The practicum is completed in the geographic area in which the student lives.

LOWER DIVISION NURSING CREDIT
Satisfied by R.N. licensure that is a pre-requisite for the BSN program.
RN students are granted transfer and AP credits for their lower division nursing courses, which are earned through diploma programs or associate degree programs.
