U.S. Jesuit Colleges and Universities among the "Best" in the Latest National Rankings

Jesuit institutions are among America's "Best Colleges," according to the latest U.S. News & World Report rankings for 2011. All of the research and master's universities were recognized, and the College of the Holy Cross, the only exclusively undergraduate Jesuit institution in the U.S., was listed among the "Best Liberal Arts Colleges" in the country.

Some of the highlights from this year's rankings: Creighton University in Omaha, NE, was listed at No. 1 for midwest master's universities for the eighth year in a row. For the 14th year in a row, Wheeling Jesuit University in Wheeling, WV was listed as the top university in West Virginia in regional rankings. In the category of average graduation rate, Xavier University in Cincinnati, OH was ranked number one in the Midwest. Loyola University Maryland in Baltimore, MD was ranked in the categories of Best Up-and-Comers, Great Schools at Great Prices and A+ Schools for B Students. The University of Scranton in Scranton, PA was ranked third among schools in the category of Strong Commitment to Teaching.
